Thing 3

Well, I have signed up for the RSS feed but am wondering if it is better to use Google Reader or to use my Outlook RSS thingamajig. With Outlook, it would automatically come to my work computer and would synch to my phone. But Google is accessible everywhere that there's internet. Does anyone have an opinion?

Also, I love videos online!!! What a great learning tool!

Thing 2 - Library 2.0

I learned about myself as well as about Library 2.0 with this assignment. Primarily, I learned that I do not like to read a lot of text on the computer. Instead, I printed off the Ebsco article (after having to guess that Issue 45 was published in 2007). But I love having the video capabilities! That was very cool!

As far as Library 2.0 goes, I think that libraries have always had to re-invent themselves and this will continue to be the case. I agree that libraries have to shift to become early-adopters where technology is concerned, but I think the basics about working with people will never change. People want human interaction, to be treated with courtesy and respect, and to have someone be willing to assist them when they need help.

Thing 1

Well, I have three blogs set up on Blogger but haven't really used any of them so far. However, this time I vow it will be different! I have done the basic steps today and am going to come back tomorrow to work on some of the advanced features. I want to take full advantage of this opportunity! But for me the best way to go about that is to do the activities frequently and learn new things gradually.

I was so proud of myself when I figured out how to create my Yahoo avatar, which was mostly a fluke that I discovered a couple weeks ago. I love how thin I am as a virtual character! Anyway, that was a lot of fun, but my primary goal is to get comfortable enough with blogging to create blogs for my library.

I am looking forward to learning more tomorrow!
